An Oval Office invite?

There's all sorts of useful info in The Essential Guide to Lesbian and Gay Weddings, including a tidbit that'll interest all those folks in San Francisco, New Paltz and Portland: if you send a wedding invitation to the President of the United States (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC 20500), you're supposed to get a letter of congratulations signed by the president and the first lady.

One of the book's co-authors got no answer from the senior George Bush, but did receive one from the Clintons. One wouldn't think that the current president would send one, but since he should be in favor of gay marriage after all (free registration required), Junior just might come through. Remind me to add him to the list. *grin*
