How-tos for getting hitched

Getting married in Massachusetts? GLAD's posted a guide to the legal requirements. Short version:

-- get the premarital blood test
-- apply for and obtain a license
-- have your friendly neighborhood rabbi, JP, etc. perform the ceremony
-- also have your minister/celebrant sign and return the license

Fenway Community Health is holding special evening premarital clinics through May 1. Appointments, I was told, take ten minutes and include the blood test, a voluntary rubella test (women only), and AIDS education. Get your slot sooner rather than later -- according to yesterday's Globe, more than 150 people have already signed up.
