Inspector came and went ...

... and recommended some fixes, but found no major problems. Right now, the plan is to sign the P&S on Saturday and hand over a sizable check, then to give them a much bigger check a month later. In the meantime, we'll keep packing boxes and cramming them into every square inch of space we have, which even right now is not that much.

The wife took the quiz too, and also scored 100%, which she says is much higher than she would've scored five years ago, before she met me. She's also more into the Patriots, too. She was talking about the Pats with a grandparent at her school the other day, who asked, "Are you married?", and then said, "Oh, that's why you have to watch so much of it ..." Which happens to be right, even if the grandmother got one of the details wrong. :)

Just heard from our agent that the sellers counteroffered with a figure only $5,000 than our offer, which was still less than our top figure.

We accepted.

Saw 13 houses today ...

... and made an offer on one that stood head and shoulders above the rest. It’s been on the market a while, so they may jump at it, but since they’re having an open house tomorrow, they may just come back at us with a counteroffer. At least this time we’ll have the first offer on the table.

A fun "Night at the Museum"

The wife and I took advantage of the holiday to catch this movie, and had a good time. It's not a classic by any stretch of the imagination, but it was diverting enough, with good performances by Ben Stiller, Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, and Mickey Rooney. And hey, who *wouldn’t* want to hang out in a museum where the exhibits come alive at night?
